The National Park Service (NPS) turns 100 on Aug. 25, and as lead up to the centennial, the park service has opportunities for people of all ages to participate and volunteer.
In addition to volunteer opportunities with Wright Brothers National Memorial, and Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, the NPS is looking for volunteers for the Cape Hatteras National Seashore
On Ocracoke, they are looking for volunteers to assist park rangers with public programs, such as cast netting, crabbing, bird walks and the interpretative operation at the base of the Ocracoke lighthouse.
In the seashore, numerous other positions, such as museum aides, landscapers, birders, receptionists and more are available in Manteo, Bodie and Hatteras Islands
