PRESS RELEASE

Robert Zaytoun, a Raleigh lawyer, and Steve Lacy, a lawyer from Vandemere, Pamlico County, will hold a town meeting in the Community Center to discuss their class-action lawsuit filed against PCL Construction.

The meeting is free and open to any person or business owner who may have a claim for economic losses and other damages related to the recent power outage in Hyde and Dare Counties.

Information will be provided on how persons or businesses may seek full compensation for their economic losses, emotional stress and inconvenience caused by the power outage.

Zaytoun and Lacy will answer any questions about the class-action lawsuit they have filed on behalf of citizens of Hyde and Dare Counties.

PCL crews rebuilding the Bonner Bridge accidentally severed the main electric transmission cables on July 27, causing a week-long blackout to Hatteras and Ocracoke islands.

Although both islands were restored within a few days with electricity from generators, visitors were evacuated because the generators only produced enough power for residents and not a full complement of summer visitors.
