State officials have extended the voter registration deadline by three days to Oct. 15 for 28 counties impacted by Hurricane Florence, including Hyde County.

Previously, the registration deadline was Oct. 12.  To see the counties that have extended the voter registration deadline, click here.

Registering to vote can be done at the Hyde County Elections Office in the Public Safety Building at 1223 Main St., Swan Quarter, or online.

Below are some important dates and information. 

Oct. 17One-stop early voting and same-day registration voting in person begins. For more information, click here.

Oct. 17 to Nov. 2 Early voting in the Hyde County Elections Office is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Early voting hours on Saturday, Nov. 3 are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Oct. 25 and 26 – One-stop early voting at the Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department, 822 Irvin Garrish Hwy, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Oct. 30 – Last day to request an absentee by mail ballot

Nov. 3 – Early voting and same-day registration end.

NOV. 6 – ELECTION DAY. Polls open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  To see all of the Hyde County voting locations, click here
