The Ocracoke Health Center will host a free Healthy Holidays Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department.
At the fair, the public is invited to learn about medication safety, healthy food options for the holidays and more.
A health coach from the Outer Banks Hospital, a community outreach initiative, will attend and offer free wellness screenings that day.
Hyde County Health Department also will attend and offer resources about their substance abuse task force and will conduct a drug take-back program that day to help islanders safely dispose of unused or expired medication.
