After a busy Thanksgiving week, the Ocracoke vacation season has wound down with most businesses closed for the season, but there still are things going on around the village.

Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Ocracoke Civic & Business Assn. Civic Affairs meeting, 6 to 8 pm, Ocracoke Community Center
Topics to be discussed include updates from the following: Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department, Hyde County commissioners, National Park Service, the Mosquito Control Board and a Hyde County technology update with Donnie Schumate, Hyde County public information officer.

Saturday, Dec. 1
Ocracoke Oyster Co.: Martin Garrish and Coyote, 6:30 pm
Gaffer’s: Willis Gupton, 8 pm

Monday, Dec. 3
Hyde County commissioners meeting, 6 pm. Ocracoke Community Center. Newly elected county commissioners James Topping and Shannon Swindell to be sworn in.
