The Ocracoke Civic & Business Association is changing the venue for tomorrow night’s civic meeting at 5 p.m. to the “Martha’s Vineyard Express,” the rental passenger ferry which will be docked at Ocracoke Harbor so that the community can take a look at this new addition for Ocracoke this season.
Helena Stevens, OCBA director, said Jed Dixon, deputy Ferry Division director, told her that things are going so well with the rental passenger ferry that he wanted to bring it to the island for the meeting.
“The meeting will be held on the ferry,” she said.
The catamaran-style ferry made a stop in Ocracoke’s Silver Lake Harbor on Monday after having been spotted in Coinjock, Currituck County on Sunday.
Meeting attendees are asked to meet at the passenger ferry shelter at the NPS Visitors Center at 5 p.m. before boarding, but latecomers will be able to board. The meeting will last until 6:30 p.m.

Dixon and Ferry Division Director Harold Thomas will attend along with Tom Pahl, Hyde County commissioner for Ocracoke, and a representative for the National Park Service, Stevens said.
