From our news sources

A developing low pressure system will track across South Carolina tonight and Eastern North Carolina Monday morning, the National Weather Service out of Newport/Morehead City reported in a press release.

The low will produce widespread showers and thunderstorms tonight into Monday. While strong to severe storms remain possible overnight tonight, our greatest concern for severe weather is late tomorrow morning through early afternoon.

There is still uncertainty on the aerial extent of the severe weather threat which will be dependent on the exact track of the low.

The main threats will be damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes. The storms will also produce large hail, torrential downpours and frequent lighting. Rainfall of 1.5 to two inches is expected with locally heavier amounts possible.
