If you want to come to Ocracoke to help with hurricane recovery

Volunteers from Duck Yoga meet with Twig Rollins, right, about their assignment for the day. Rollins coordinates the United Methodist Committee on Relief work while Ocracoke rebuilds from Hurricane Matthew. Photo: C. Leinbach

Sept. 18, 2019. The following information is from the Ocracoke Relief Team about how people can help Ocracoke post-Hurricane Dorian.
Further updated Oct. 16, 2019.

At this point, volunteers wishing to come to Ocracoke to help rebuild are asked to do so via the United Methodist Church Regional Disaster Response Center. Please email Twig Rollins, the UMCOR coordinator on Ocracoke about this at twig@nccumc.org.

Ocracoke is still in need of funds to help with rebuilding since Individual Assistance through FEMA was denied.  The Outer Banks Community Foundation is accepting donations for Ocracoke Disaster Relief at https://www.obcf.org/donate-now/disaster-relief-fund-donate/

If you have specific questions, unique offers of aid, or questions about donating supplies, please contact ocracokedisasterrelief@gmail.com.

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out to us when we need it most. Our community appreciates it more than words can express.
