With the COVID-19 pandemic well underway, vital services such as grocery stores are taking steps to help ensure the safety of both their customers and staff.
The Ocracoke Variety Store is one of them.
Tommy Hutcherson, proprietor, said today (March 22) that the the store will remain open for all who want to shop as usual. Also, store hours have changed. Hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

And for those who do not wish to enter the store to do their shopping, effective immediately, is a new option.

Called “TEXT 4 PICK UP, “ here is how it works:

“Please cautious and stay safe during these uncertain times and as always,”  Hutcherson said, “we appreciate your business.”
