The Ocracoke School boys’ varsity team rocked the Tank on Tuesday with a big first round 1A state playoff win and hopes to repeat that at 7 p.m. Friday (Feb. 28) when they will play Camp Lejeune High School in the second round.
The address is 835 Stone Street, Camp Lejeune, NC 28547-2520. It is on a military base with strict policies regarding entry, said Ocracoke School Athletic Director Mary McKnight. The team is taking the 1:30 p.m. Cedar Island ferry.
For parents and fans who would like to come to the game, see the info in the graphic about entry to the base.
All spectators within each vehicle 18 years and older must stop at the Wilson Gate Center to obtain a pass. Please allow at least an hour for this process.
Once you have obtained your base pass, you will need to proceed through the gate and show the gate guard your pass.
The Camp Lejeune Visitor Center is located in Bldg. TT-13 adjacent the Wilson Boulevard Gate, just off N.C. Highway 24. The visitor center processes all visitor applications except contractors and vendors. Those visitors who have not been pre-vetted can expect longer wait times at the visitor center.
The visitor center is open Monday through Friday: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed on weekends and holidays. Phone: 910-451-7734. Email: lejeunevisitorcenter@usmc.mil
They do not have a live stream with NFHS Network. School officials are hoping some parents at the game will live stream it on Facebook.
Visitor paperwork is below. It can be filled out once you get there but it will likely go faster if it is filled out beforehand.
The school has copies in the main office of school for pick-up on Thursday/Friday if anyone wants a printed copy of the application.
