Without priority loading for residents I doubt I would have ever bought my house there. Watching all this nonsense with the ferries has further confirmed my decision to sell it and live elsewhere.

Not yet.We are getting older though and if health issues arise, we may have no choice.

If priority passes go away we will never get mail, UPS, FedEx, food for restaurants, the store, medicines, utility support. Can't make medical appointments, grocery shopping, etc... compare it to toll roads around a city, there are other routes that are free.

While we are asking, perhaps we allow priority for all registered vehicles of Ocracoke, not just residents.

Priority Passes have always been abused. If you knew the right people you could get a pass if you met the criteria or not.

Own property and a rental cottage i manage. Priority pass has allowed me to travel with my dogs in hot summer, make medical appts, buy supplies for rental and be able to get back and forth without waiting for hours to get off or on the island. Revoking the priority pass makes me wonder if i should sell my rental and other home on island. How does a lawmaker from the other end of the state make decisions on how our island operates? Obviously she has no idea how life is here.
