NC Ten for Ten is a statewide initiative of North Carolina writers to aid in the support and long-term recovery of western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene last September.
Through broadcasted readings of over 50 North Carolina Writers, NC Ten for Ten aims not only to raise funds for the ongoing recovery of our mountain communities, but also to offer the healing power of stories from some of North Carolina’s finest literary artists.
Every Saturday morning at 10, listeners will be able to hear a new release weekly of North Carolina writers reading their work via NC 10 for 10 social media platforms and will have the option to donate funds to support Western North Carolina communities in exchange for the enjoyment of listening to the writers read for the mountains.
For details go to : https://nc10for10.com/
Once posted, the readings are available any time on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@nc10for10 and are also available at other sites listed on https://nc10for10.com/.
There is no paywall to view the readings, just the hope that donations will be made as folks are able.
Today’s reading was by Clyde Edgerton. February’s line up includes Joseph Bathanti, Feb. 1; Zelda Lockhart, Feb. 8; Tita Ramirez, Feb. 15; and Josephus Thompson, Feb. 22.
