Ocracoke saw two new businesses open in October. Native Seafood, owned by Farris and Chrissy O’Neal, opened in the former Carl O’Neal’s Dockside building beside the OVFD along Irvin Garrish Highway.
Roxy’s Antiques, in Spencer’s Market, is owned by Sue Dayton and David Mickey, formerly of Saxapahaw, NC, and now fulltime islanders.
“Roxy” is the name of Sue’s beloved, late pit bull.
The shop has an eclectic mix of antiques, glass, china, collectibles and whimsy.
Hours are Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; sometimes Sundays. They will be open during the holidays for shopping.
Native Seafood will be open probably to Jan. 1 for this season, said Chrissy O’Neal. Along with fresh local fish, there is a variety of other salt water fish, shellfish, sushi fixings and more.
