Danny Worsley

Danny Creighton Worsley, 74, a beloved member of the Ocracoke community, died on May 21, 2024, in Ocracoke.

Born on March 8, 1950, in Rocky Mount, he was a son of the late Juanita Cetta Keyton and Charles Creighton Worsley.

Danny led a fulfilling life, dedicating his career to various roles that showcased his expertise and passion.

He worked as an engineer for CSX Railroad, contributed his skills to the National Forest Service in Montana, served with the NCDOT Ferry Division and found joy as a commercial fisherman on Ocracoke.

Additionally, he was a devoted Steward of the Ocracoke Community Park Ballfield, where he poured his energy into preserving a cherished community space.

His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life, as he helped create and nurture the Ocracoke Community Ballfield with unwavering focus, dedication and devotion.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Shala Worsley, and brother, Tommy Worsley.

Danny’s legacy will be remembered by all who knew him, as his impact on his community and loved ones will continue to shine brightly in their hearts.
