Since Hurricane Dorian struck on Sept. 6, 2019, Ocracoke Island has been rebuilding after the devastating flooding. In addition, although the COVID-19 pandemic is waning, some events have been canceled again in 2021.

Unavailable until May 25.
Roanoke Island Animal Clinic visits Ocracoke on the second Wednesday of every month at the Community Center. However, they are not coming to Ocracoke in June or July due to lack of staff. Appointments required. Call 252-473-3117. Check RIAC Facebook page on clinic day for travel delays.

MOVEMENT

YOGA
Ocracoke Island Yoga Studio, 37 Back Rd.
Virtual on Zoom and occasional pop-up classes at the beach, not on a regular schedule.

Yoga with Amy, inside Angie’s Gym, Sand Dollar Road. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30 to 10 am. All levels welcome. $20/visitors; $15/residents; $5 off for under 18 and over 70. Cash or check only. Some mats available.

OCRACOKE COMMUNITY LIBRARY
Temporarily in the Deepwater Theater, School Road. Summer hours begin June 1: Open from 3 to 7 pm Monday through Friday, and 9 am to 1 pm Saturdays.

OCRACOKE PRESERVATION SOCIETY
49 Water Plant Rd. 252-928-7375. Open 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Saturday. Closed Sundays.

POST DORIAN SUPPORT/GRIEF GROUP–Free
Meets virtually every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 pm. On Zoom, contact Ruth, 252-475-0859 for invite to join via Zoom.  For residents and their families coping with hurricane PTSD and COVID.

NPS VISITOR CENTER

HYDE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
First Monday of every month except holidays, when meeting is the following day. Monday, June 7. 6 pm. On Facebook at Hyde County Public Information.

OCRACOKE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT.
June 3 & June 17, 7 p.m. Volunteers always needed.

WATERWAYS COMMISSION
June 15, 6 pm in the Ocracoke Community Center.  The meeting will be open to the public with masks as required by NC state.  The meeting will also be broadcast via Facebook at Hyde County Public Information.–postponed

Ocracoke Tourism Development Authority

OCRACOKE DECOY CARVERS GUILD MEETING
