This wood cut by Amanda Gaskins, who graduated last year, was on view last year during Arts Week.
An Arts Week presentation, featuring students’ work in steel drums, pottery, mask making, dance, and Spanish poetry, will be held at 9:30 a.m today (Friday, April 3) in the Ocracoke School gym .
The community is invited to attend.
Art instruction has been provided this semester by artists hired by Ocracoke Alive, who also raised the funds, after Hyde County Schools cut all arts instruction district-wide last fall in the face of state budget cuts to public education.
