Painter Meredith Bundy of Virginia will show a wide spectrum of both abstract and realism at her show opening  from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, in Down Creek Gallery as their “Expose Yourself to Art” series of openings continue.

Her work has been included in the gallery since last September.

“In high school I developed a strong passion for medicine, in addition to art,” Bundy says.  “I decided that whatever career I went into, I wanted to incorporate both medicine and artwork into my life.”

Meredith began selling her paintings in high school, often being commissioned for specific pieces. She was accepted into a scholarship program at Savannah College of Art and Design at the age of 17 to study architecture. She then went on to attend James Madison University, double majoring in studio art and pre-med.

She is a physician’s assistant in Dermatology.

She has visited the island often with her family and two resident uncles, David Bundy and Roy Revels of Zillie’s Island Pantry.

Professional musicians Ryan Guerra and Aaron LaVigne will provide music.  All are welcome and refreshments will be provided.
