The Ocracoke Preservation Society will host its third winter art auction fundraiser, “Ocracoke, Through Your Eyes,” today from 5 to 7 p.m. in the David Williams museum, 49 Water Plant Rd. Light snacks and beverages will be served.
The auction will feature original small works–almost all pieces are 6” x 8” canvases–created by islanders and artist friends of Ocracoke of all ages, including several works by children. The works include paintings, photography and mixed media.
About 80 pieces will be available according to Amy Howard, the OPS administrator.
For those not able to attend in person, online bidding is going on again this year, but bids will only be accepted via email to admin@ocracokepreservation.org., and the deadline is noon today, Howard said.
Make sure to include the canvas number, name, artist, bid amount and your contact information. The society will charge a shipping fee.
