Ocracoke School students who want to participate in sports next year, such as cross country, above, can receive free (mandatory) physicals May 17 to 19 at the Health Center.

The Ocracoke Health Center, 305 Back Rd., will hold free sports physical clinics on Tuesday, May 17, to Thursday, May 19, between 3 and 5 p.m. all three days, for all 2016 to 2017 sports.

This will be the only clinic day to provide free physicals for the upcoming school year.

In the past, the Ocracoke Health Center has been able to offer these sports physicals free of charge.

In order to be fair to scheduled patients and to continue to offer this free service, if physicals are not done at this time, they will be the financial responsibility of the patient/parent.

Please bring your completed and signed permission/physical examination form.

Forms should be completed before arrival.

If you have questions, please call the Ocracoke Health Center at 928-1511.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association requires that all student athletes have a physical each year.

The physicals schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, May 17: rising ninth- to twelfth-graders

Wednesday, May 18: rising sixth- to eighth-graders

Thursday, May 19: rising third- to fifth-graders
