Ocracoke Community Library invites all to bring still-usable arts and crafts supplies to the library by May 14 for an Arts and Crafts Supplies Swap next Wednesday through Saturday, May 15 to 18.

Since it’s a swap, all items will be free, and anyone can stop by to peruse the piles.

Those who donate before May 14 will get an Early Bird ticket to get first dibs on the Swap supplies before the crowds on May 15.

Items to donate can be yarn, fabric, scrap booking supplies, paint, stencils, ribbon, googly eyes, beads, tools, embroidery floss, old craft kits, patterns, quilting supplies, projects that make you feel guilty for never getting to them, needlepoint kits, clay, tissue paper, rubber stamps, canvases, craft books, jewelry findings, hot glue guns/sticks, glass gems, ornament kits, macramé supplies, basket making reed, sequins, glitter, glue dots, whatever.

Prior to the Swap, the library will choose some supplies to keep for Summer Reading Program activities.

Donations can be dropped off during regular library hours by May 14.  The Early Bird Swap will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 15. Volunteers are welcome to help set up on Tuesday evening and to see everything.

Then the Swap will open during regular library hours: 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15; from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 16 and 17; and Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Leftover Swap items will be saved by the library or donated to Village Thrift.
