
Well water: The Hyde County Health Department Environmental Health Specialist will be on Ocracoke to instruct citizens how to chlorinate private wells tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 13. If you are on Ocracoke and need this assistance, please add your name to the list at the fire station. Hyde County Health Department Environmental Health also will be back on Ocracoke on Monday. Cleaning crews: Any Ocracoke residents who need assistance from house cleaning crews and/or chainsaw crews should come to the assistance desk at the Fire Station and put their name on the list. This list will prioritize the crew deployments.
Food replacement: Active Food and Nutrition Services recipients who suffered a food loss during Hurricane Dorian have until Sept. 30 to request replacement benefits.
