Louelle Spencer Midgett, 86, of Rodanthe died July 8 in the Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

She was a founding member and staunch advocate of the Chicamacomico Banks Fire Department.
Additionally, she spread love throughout the Outer Banks with countless donations of baby quilts to expecting mothers.
Louelle is survived by her six children: Brent Midgett (Elaine), Bertha Midgett, Bruce Midgett (Jade), Bonnie Gray (Tilman), Rebecca Thomas (Jeff) and Wilhelmina Grubbs (Larry).
She is also survived by a nephew Rickey Tillett, 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
