The Ocracoke Coffee Company on Back Road will reopen Sunday morning. It closed Wednesday while two of its employees exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 awaited test results.
The shop announced via Facebook Friday evening that the results were negative. “We’ve had a deep clean and all is sanitized to be ready for the normal 7 a.m. opening,” the post said.
As of this morning, according to the NC Department of Health and Human Services, there are 69 cases in Hyde County which includes one case on Ocracoke. However, Melissa Sadler, nursing supervisor for the Hyde County Health Department said on Friday that this case was of someone who lives outside the county and that this case will be removed from Hyde’s case tally.
“There are several that have tested on Ocracoke or claimed to live on Ocracoke, but they live in another county,” she said.
