A low pressure strengthening off the coast will bring rain and high winds from Wednesday into Thursday night.
Little or no snow is expected on the Outer Banks but it will bring the potential for minor snowfall accumulations farther west on the mainland.
Gale force winds and gusts up to 40 to 50 mph will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
Minor coastal flooding is expected along the coast.
