Willis Gupton.

Longtime music man on Ocracoke Willis Gupton, 67, of Louisburg died April 16.

He was married to Dana Collette Gupton.

Born Oct. 24, 1956, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Mary Swanson Gupton.

Willis leaves behind a large friend and fan base from his many years of music. He will be remembered for his performances and followers in Nashville, Tennessee, Emerald Isle and Ocracoke, for which he wrote “The Wal-Mart Song.”

He also performed for many local events and charities as a donation to help raise funds including the senior center, the Moose Lodge, Maude Fest and many church events and fundraisers over the years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Kyle and Danielle.

Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. May 5 in the Louisburg College Auditorium, Jones Performing Arts Center, East College St., Louisburg, Franklin County.
