The Beaufort County Community College Small Business Center will offer a free Entrepreneurship Workshop March 25 that culminates with a pitch contest, where local entrepreneurs can win cash to help start or expand their small business.
The “Finding the Entrepreneur in You” workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Ocracoke Community Center.
Jack Dugan, the SBC director, will facilitate this one-day “Ice House” workshop, based on the life story of Pulitzer nominee Clifton Taulbert, “Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur,” by Gary Schoeniger.
The workshop is designed to inspire and engage you in the fundamental aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset, its universal application and the unlimited opportunities it can provide.
Participants will leave with a plan to help guide them in their small business startup or expansion and compete in a pitch contest to win seed funds.
First place is $2,500, and second place is $500.
Lunch and the “Who Owns the Ice House?” book are included.
