Ocracoke School graduated 11 seniors at a ceremony in the school gym on June 12.

Angela Flores, who is the first Ocracoke School student to earn an associate degree from Beaufort County Community College before graduating from high school, was the valedictorian.

She plans to attend East Carolina University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). She hopes to eventually earn a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

She received a total of $20,870 in scholarships, with the potential of that total reaching $41,870 over four years.

Aidan Mason was the salutatorian. He is contemplating future plans while working at the Variety Store.

The other graduates and their post-high school plans are as follows:

Eliana Contreras will attend Pitt Community College to study Human Services.

Ava Dickerson graduated last December and enrolled at Cape Fear Community College to get a head start on her college coursework. In the fall, she will attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She received $9,500 in scholarships.

Heidy Garcia Lora will attend Pitt Community College where she will study to become an Early Intervention Specialist. She received $5,940 in scholarships.

Payce Howarth plans to attend Pitt Community College to become an X-ray technician. She received $1,500 in scholarships.

Juliette Jordan will continue her work as an orthodontic technician at Bel Air Orthodontics in Maryland while pursuing her Dental Assisting, Dental Radiology and Orthodontic Technician licenses.

Tatiana Martinez plans to attend Pitt Community College.

Walker Sallee will head to Appalachian State University to study Kinesiology. He received $7,000 in scholarships.

Roger Suazo Gonzales is working at DAJIO while continuing to explore future options.

Noah Turner will attend Cape Fear Community College in the fall before transferring to the University of North Carolina Wilmington in January. He plans to major in business with a minor in engineering and hopes to continue playing baseball through club sports at UNCW. He received $6,000 in scholarships.
