The Ocracoke School Future Business Leaders of America club has won a national honor.
The National FBLA Champion Chapter was recently awarded a bronze honor to the school’s chapter, which has been active for only a year.
Joan O’Neal, Hyde County Schools Career Development and Career Awareness coordinator, who guided the club last year, said that FBLA Vice President Lillian Pacanins compiled all of the necessary information for national review: the year’s activities in membership development, leadership, community service and professional development.
“This national recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our students and everyone who supports their success,” O’Neal said. “Community support helps students participate in leadership opportunities, conferences, competitions, and chapter projects throughout the year. We’re excited to build on this momentum in the year ahead.”
Anyone interested in donating, sponsoring or speaking is asked to contact the school, 252-928-3251.
Sponsor checks can be made out to Ocracoke School with FBLA in the memo line and sent to the school: P.O. Box 189, Ocracoke, NC 27960.
