Eighty-eight students in the second grading period of the academic year made the Ocracoke School honor roll. Thirty-nine had all A’s. A school ceremony on Tuesday noted their achievement.

Principal Walt Padgett noted that 70 percent of the students (165 enrolled from K to 12) were on the all A-B or all-A honor roll.

“This has been achieved with parental support, dedicated teachers and students who are responsible and motivated to be successful in the classroom,” he said. “We are very proud of our students and teachers and the continuous effort we receive from them.”

The second nine-week grading period ended in January. Honor roll recognition begins with the third grade.
