The Ocracoke Civic and Business Associations will host a meet-the-candidates today (Feb. 25) at 6 p.m. in the Ocracoke Community Center. 

Light snacks will be available, and the OCBA business meeting will follow.

Democrats John Fletcher and Tom Pahl, running for Ocracoke Township County Commissioner and Democrat Warren Judge running for the General Assembly House District 6, which includes Ocracoke, will attend.

Danny Couch, the unopposed candidate for Dare County commissioner (replacing Allen Burrus) for Hatteras Island, also will attend.

Judy Justice, the other Democrat on the ballot for District 6, cannot be present but will attend the March 9 OCBA meeting.

All candidates running for the State Assembly District 6 seat in the March 15 primary were invited. Republican candidates Ashley Woolard of Washington and Beverly Boswell of Kill Devils did not respond to the invitation.
