The Hyde County Board of Education has extended the timeline for accepting applications for filling the Ocracoke district school board seat vacated in June by David Tolson.
Applicants would remain in the position until Tolson’s term is up, which is in 2018.
The following is the revised timeline:
Sept. 1 – Completed application packet due by 5 p.m.
Sept. 6 – Board review of applications if more than four are received.
Sept. 7 – Notification to selected applicants of interview
Sept. 12 – Interviews begin at 11 a.m. in the Ocracoke Community Center
Applications are available in the administrative office of Ocracoke School and at http://www.hyde.k12.nc.us/ then clicking on the Board of Education tab and selecting “Vacant Board of Education Seat.”
