The community is invited to a meet-and-greet with staff and board members of the Outer Banks Community Foundation tomorrow (Friday, March 24) from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Ocracoke Oyster Company.

In the last 25 years, this organization has give more than $250,000 to Ocracoke nonprofits and student scholarships.

The foundation was founded in 1982 as a public charity to help meet local needs in Dare County and across all Outer Banks communities, from Corolla to Ocracoke Island. The foundation accomplishes its mission by increasing charitable giving in the area, by managing charitable funds for individuals and agencies and by targeting grants toward the community’s most pressing needs and promising opportunities.
