Spencer’s Furniture & True Value, Engelhard, N.C.

The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles License Plate Agency in Engelhard, Hyde County, will re-open for business at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday, July 18).

The agency, located at R.S. Spencer True Value, 34910 U.S. Highway 264, has been closed since June 4 following the death of longtime former contractor R.S. Spencer III.

Spencer’s wife, Jo Ann Spencer, will operate the agency under a temporary contract until a permanent contractor is named.

The office will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays–closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.–and will offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations.

The DMV is currently seeking applicants to operate the Hyde County license plate agency (LPA).

Completed applications (Form MVR-93 or Form MVR-93AA) must be returned to NCDMV no later than Friday, Aug. 3, and can be found online at Connect NCDOT website. Interested applicants may call 919-615-6053 with questions.
