This year’s fundraising “Enchanted Forest Book Fair” in the Ocracoke Community Library will kick off from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, with a Family Night.

That night, the library, at 225 Back Rd., will be transformed into an enchanted forest.

In addition to a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level, there will be stories, games, prizes, crafts and treats. Kids who bring a grown-up will be able to enter a raffle to win a book.

Ocracoke School students can help their teachers: The class with the greatest percentage of students attending Family Night will win $50 to spend at the Book Fair.

This fundraiser, to benefit the Ocracoke school and the Ocracoke Community Library, will continue to Nov. 20.

Those who don’t have a child to buy for can consider purchasing books for the library or an Ocracoke School classroom. Teachers’ wish lists will be available for anyone to purchase books for classrooms.

Shopping hours during the fair (Nov. 14 to 20) will be as follows: Wednesday 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday 3 to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday 2 to 4 p.m., Monday 3 to 7 p.m., and Tuesday 3 to 7 p.m.

Those unable to attend in person, may visit the book fair online from Nov. 8 to 21 at www.scholastic.com/bf/ocracokeschool.
