Editor’s note: The rules for this contest have been slightly revised. The deadline has been pushed to July 18.
Last year, we held a dogs of Ocracoke photo contest. We thought over the winter: Why limit it to just the cute pooches?
So, this year the Ocracoke Observer has expanded the contest to all pets. Send us your portraits of you cats, dogs, birds, horses – but no wildlife caught on Ocracoke. Most creative wins.
All photos of your pet(s) must have been taken on Ocracoke from Aug. 1, 2018, up to July 18 of this year.
Because of the Park Service regulations, dogs on the beach must be on leashes unless they are actively in the water. So, beach photos of dogs on the beach must show at least a portion of a leash. Photos showing dogs without leashes will not be considered
Submit your digital photos of your pet no later than July 18 to info@ocracokeobserver.com.
Maximum of two entries per person/family. Please pet’s name, contact information, photographer’s name, and date and where the photo was taken. Clever comments welcome, too.
Winning photographs will be published in the August Ocracoke Observer print and online editions.
Winners will receive gift certificates to Ocracoke businesses of their choice.
