‘Kathleen’s,’ an acrylic of Island Artworks, by Ann Colandro, is one of many works in the annual OPS fundraising art auction “Ocracoke Through Your Eyes.”

There is still time left to donate a piece of art to the Ocracoke Preservation Society fundraising art auction “Ocracoke Through Your Eyes.”

This silent auction, an annual event, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in the Ocracoke Community Center.

“This year we are accepting a wide variety of pieces so if you have something you created that reminds you of Ocracoke we would love to have it,” said OPS Administrator Andrea Powers in a post on the auction’s Facebook page where people who can’t attend in person can bid.

Paintings and mixed media are typically on 5 X 7-inch canvases, but this year there are collages, painted paint brushes, door pulls and shoes.

Items can be sent in the mail to P. O. Box 1240, Ocracoke, NC 27960, or dropped off at the museum.

“Just let us know,” she said.  “Someone is there most days even though we are still closed to the public.”

The phone number is 252-928-7375
