Emmett Temple, a theater-artist born and raised on Ocracoke, will conduct weekly physical comedy classes aimed at awakening your inner clown at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 23 to July 16 outdoors at the Books to be Red lawn.
Tuesdays will be for individuals ages 10 and older, or younger children accompanied by an adult, and Thursdays are for family groups with a limit of four per group.
Both classes are open to islanders and visitors for any number of classes.
Students will work with physical and vocal warm ups, a variety of theater games and two-character silent improvisation. Social distancing will be observed.
The cost for island students is free, sponsored by Ocracoke Alive. For visiting students ages 10 and above, the cost is $10 per session. Family groups are $20.
Reservations required by texting or calling 252-588-2331.
I don’t know. Most people advise me to tone down my inner clown….
Love this idea! How about a wine and paint class too?
