Robert “Bobby” Craven Turner Jr., 78, joined Jesus on August 25, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
He was the husband of Robin Braxton Turner.
Born on September 17, 1947, he was a son of the late Jean and Craven Turner.
He was raised in Raleigh, NC, and called both Ocracoke Island and Washington, NC, home. His favorite place to be, however, was on his boat in the Gulf Stream.
Bobby was a hardworking, patient, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He was known for always having a smile on his face and for the warmth and kindness he shared with those around him.
He took great pride in his work, owning and operating Turner Tire Service Inc., before later joining Colony Tire Inc.
He brought the same dedication and work ethic to his career that he brought to everything he did.
Above all, Bobby loved “his girls.”
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Leigh Turner of Greenville, NC; Casey Morgan and her husband, Ryan, of Greensboro, NC; and Molly Edwards and her cat, Gus, of Washington, DC; his grandchildren, Hunter and Braxton Morgan of Greensboro, NC; and his brothers, Todd Turner and his wife, Sara, of West End, NC, and David Turner and his wife, Cindy, of Wilmington, NC.
He is also survived by several nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by the many fish he caught.
The family is deeply grateful to Angie Garriss for the love, care, and companionship she provided to Bobby during the last six months of his life. They also extend their heartfelt thanks to April Bullock and her hospice team for the compassionate care they provided to Bobby and his family.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 28, in First Methodist Church of Washington. A private burial will follow.
