Due to mechanical issues, all Ocracoke Express passenger ferry departures for today (Friday, June 25) are canceled, according to a Twitter update from the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division.

After several consecutive days of Pamlico Sound routes being intermittently canceled, all routes between Ocracoke, Cedar Island and Swan Quarter are on schedule and running as of this morning.
The passenger ferry typically departs from the Hatteras village ferry terminal at 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and departs from the Ocracoke Silver Lake terminal at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
