While it’s not exactly just around the corner, the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 8 will be here soon enough.

The Ocracoke Observer will post election information, including voter registration and statements from the candidates in the coming weeks, and here provide the sample ballot for Ocracoke voters and the Hyde County early voting schedule.

The Ocracoke Library will host a voter registration drive on National Voter Registration Day Monday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Variety Store porch.

Early voting on Ocracoke will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28 in the Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department. Early voting times for mainland Hyde will be from Oct. 20 to Nov. 5. See graphic below the ballot for details.
