The National Weather Service has issued a potential severe weather event late Monday (March 31) and Monday night.
While severe weather will be possible across all of eastern NC, the best chances will be areas along and west of Highway 17.
The main hazards will be damaging wind gusts (60+ mph), large hail and an isolated tornado.
The timing for thunderstorms is currently 5 p.m. until 2 a.m. on Tuesday, although this may change in future updates.
