The Ocracoke Dolphins basketball teams begin their Conference playoff games today at home (Feb. 15).

A grass-roots effort is underway for the Ocracoke fans to come out to support the team and wear Dolphin blue clothing. Wearing apparel including t-shirts, hoodies and  hats,  are sold at the game by the Ocracoke School Athletic Boosters Club. Apparel is also sold this time of the year at the Variety Store.  Proceeds from these sales supports the school’s sports programs.

The Lady Dolphins (14-9 Conf. 12-6) will play the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes

(11-10 Conf. 10-8) starting at 5 p.m. The teams split their two games, with both teams winning at home.  Coach Adam Burleson said the Lady Dolphins lost to the Hurricanes in the last Battle for Paddle game  between these two rivalry schools so they will be motivated to win this one. “They’ve been practicing well all week,” he added.
