
The Hyde Co. Historical & Genealogical Society will hold its fall meeting at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, in the Scranton Christian Church, 290 Old Highway 264, in Scranton.
The meeting will feature two speakers.
Bill Griffin, a Scranton native, will talk about his Scranton memories, and Catherine Anderson, a specialist in preserving cemetery grave markers, will speak about the “dos and don’ts” for working with cemetery markers.
Anyone interested in the history of Hyde County is welcome to attend.
The Hyde County Historical Society was formed in 1963 to preserve and record the history of Hyde County and its people. In May, 1991, the name of the society was changed to Hyde County Historical and Genealogical Society.
