What’s open on Ocracoke–updated July 5

Ocracoke Island is open for all amidst the waning COVID-19 pandemic and businesses have opened for the season. As of Friday, May 14, in most settings, indoors or outdoors, the state of North Carolina will no longer require people to wear a mask or to be socially distant. See story here.

While the COVID-19 pandemic is not over, health officials do not want to see a resurgence. Hyde County Health Director Luana Gibbs said, “Get your shot, wear your mask and socially distance yourself if you have not gotten your shot.”
